Jalori and Bashleo Pass  trek passes through thick forest, alpine meadows and wonderful landscapes. This is unspoiled region and sheer delight to trek on. This trek is filled with abundance of Flora & Fauna, sparkling streams cascading down hillsides and the magnificent snow clad mountains.

This Trek takes you deep in the Great Himalayan National Park of Himachal Pradesh renowned for its unique and diverse flora and fauna ranging from hundred to thousand rare species of plants and animals. The trek takes you to Basleo Pass at 3800 meters which presents a grand panorama of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The trail takes you through thick pine, oak and deodar trees and temples of local deities. You get to witness the traditional culture of the residents here as well as experience the picturesque aura of the beautiful Serolsar Lake.

Detail Itinerary :

 

Day 01) Shimla – Khanag Drive (2692 m) / 05-06 hrs Drive

Depart Shimla by Jeep in the morning, arriving Khanag by evening through Kufri - Theog - Narkanda – Kingel – Ani - Khanag.

Overnight stay at Camps.


Day 02)  Khanag(Trek Starts) –Raghuvir Ghar (3375m)- Jalori Pass (3227m)-Seolsar Lake (3130m) / 04 hrs trek    

After breakfast trek to Seolsar Lake.  The trail rises into the higher hills through thick forests of oak and chestnut. First visit Raghupur fort, the fort is surrounded by wide trenches and there is a small temple inside. Finally we walk towards Jalori Pass and then to Seolsar Lake. Seolsar Lake is a small lake located at about 3130 mts. The area is extremely beautiful as well as being a sacred spot for worshipping the Goddess ‘Budhi Nagin’.  Budhi Nagin is the Goddess of ghee (clarified butter), and pilgrims come to Seolsar Lake to pray for good quality ghee in the coming year. As part of the worship, the pilgrims walk around the lake pouring an unbroken line of ghee. Swimming is also possible.

Day 03) Seolsar Lake – Bashlai (3400 m) / 05-06 hrs trek

After breakfast trek to Bashlai through the forest of Tambul and Bhoj Patra. The trail goes through lovely dense forest teeming with an amazing variety of bird life.Chances of spotting the Himalayan Brown Bear and the elusive Mohal Pheasant are quite good. Reach Bashlai.

Day 04) Bashlai – Guggal Thach-Bashleo Base (2650 m) / 04-05 hrs trek

After breakfast trek to Bashleo Base via Guggal Thach which is known for its Guggal or Essence.  High up in the trees, the Himalayan Langoors (Monkeys) can be seen swinging and chattering. By evening the campsite Bashleo Base is reached. Lying in a grassy meadow surrounded by lush forests.

Day 05) Bashleo Base – Waga Sarahan over Bashleo Pass (3277m) (Trek Ends) / 04 hrs trek

After breakfast trek to Sarahan over Bashleo Pass.Sarahan is situated on the crest of a hill, bordering in a long and narrow maidan, on one side of which passes the road with tall stately popular trees. 5,155 metres high Srikanth Mahadev peak is of mythological significance, being abode of Lord Shiva but also affords a beautiful view of the panorama.

 Day 06) Waga Sarahan –Shimla Drive / Hotel at Shimla / 05-06 hrs drive

After breakfast drive to Shimla through Basantpur and Naldehra.
