Detail Itinerary :

 

Day 01) Delhi – Nainital / 330 Km / 09 hrs drive

Morning Pickup from Delhi and proceed for Nainital . Arrive Nainital Check in hotel

Nainital is one of the most beautiful hill stations in North India. Also known as the “Lake District of India”, Surrounded by mountains on three sides Nainital is located around the beautiful lake Naini Tal. This lake resort is situated at a height of 1,938 meters. There are many legends associated with the place. According to one, Nainital has derived its name from the Goddess Naina while the other legend says that when the Goddess Sati lost her eyes, she was being carried by Lord Shiva and a lake was formed. (‘Naina’ means eyes and ‘Tal’ means lake.) This beautiful small town in surrounded by seven hills, popularly known as ‘Sapta-Shring’ – Ayarpata, Deopata, Handi-Bandi, Naina, Alma, Lariya-Kanta and Sher-Ka-Danda. The majestic mountains and the sparkling waters of the lake add an immense lot to the beauty of the town.

Day 02) Nainital Lake Tour

Naini Lake : In a mythological account, this picturesque lake is said to be one of the emerald green eyes of Shiva's beloved consort, Sati (nain is a Sanskrit word for eye). When Sati's father failed to invite Shiva to a family sacrifice, she burnt herself to death in protest. Shiva gathered the charred remains in his arms and proceeded to engage in a cosmic dance tandav, which threatened to destroy the creation. To bring the dance to an end, Vishnu chopped up the body into pieces, and the remains were scattered. The Naina Devi Temple at the northern end of the lake is built over the precise spot where the eye is believed to have fallen.

Naukuchiatal(27 Km) : Naukuchiatal is a beautiful place situated just about 27 kms up, from Nainital. It’s a very peaceful place. The main attraction of this place is the Naukuchia lake itself which has 9 corners.

Later back to hotel, overnight stay at hotel at Nainital.


Day 03) Nainital Tour

Enjoy boating at Naini Lake and visit Nainadevi Temple. Later visit Snow view point by Cable car, visit Hanumangarhi temple

Snow View : From the Nainital town the Snow View top is a 3 kilometer trek. Part of it can also be covered comfortably by cars and small vehicles. At the top, one can have a close up view of Nanda Devi (7816m), the second highest Himalayan peak of the country.There's a small temple dedicated to Dev Mundi, housing images of Goddess Durga, Lord Shiva, Goddess Sita, Lord Rama, Sri Lakshmana and Sri Hanuman. From Snow View one can walk west to another point and then continue on to the main road to Kilbury. One can also continue up to Cheena Peak or head down the road to Sukhatal, passing great views of the lake en route. On the walk up to Snow View one can take a peek in the tiny Gadhan Kunkyop Ling Gompa of the Gelukpa order (of which the Dalai Lama is the spiritual head).

Naina Peak(2611 m) : Naina Peak is locally known as the Cheena peak. This is the highest point in Nainital. From here Nainital appears like a majestic shining bowl. You can walk or take ponies to reach the peak. Naina peak also gives a good view

Naina Devi Temple : At the upper end of the attractive Nainital lake, a temple of Naina Devi is located. Dedicated to the patronizing goddess of the town, Naina Devi, this temple and its complex becomes the location of the famous Nanda Devi Mela, held every year on Nandashtami during September.

Hanuman Garhi: The place is of great religious importance. Situated at a height of 1951 meters, this place was established by Baba Neem Karauli. A very beautiful Hanuman temple is at the top. Watching the Sunset from Hanuman Garhi, is an out-of-the-world experience. You can leisurely walk down to Hanuman Garhi from Nainital town.


Day 04) Nainital – Ranikhet / 56 Km / 02 hrs drive

Drive to  Ranikhet

Ranikhet(1869m), which means Queen's meadow in hindi, gets its name from a local legend, which states that it was here, that Raja Sudhardev won the heart of his queen, Rani Padmini, who subsequently chose the area for her residence, giving it the name, Ranikhet, though no palace exists in the area. The picturesque hill station was rediscovered by the British. They bought the land from the native villagers and build it into a summer resort apart from establishing an army recruitment centre in 1869. Ranikhet still remains the head quarters of the gallant Kumaon Regiment. Ranikhet also boasts of one of the best hill golf greens (9 holes) in the country.


Day 05) Ranikhet – Kausani(1890m)– Ranikhet / 58 Km one way

It is famous for its scenic splendour and its spectacular 300 km-wide panoramic view of Himalayan peaks like TrisulNanda Devi and PanchchuliMahatma Gandhi called this place the 'Switzerland of India', due to similarity in landscapes.

With a total area of 5.2 sq. km, situated at a height of 1890 m above sea level, located 51 km north of Almora, Kausani is the birthplace of famous Hindi poet Sumitra Nandan Pant, who wrote some of his memorable poems in praise of this paradise on earth. In 1929, Mahatma Gandhi stayed here for 14 days at the Anasakti Ashram while scripting his book titled ‘Anasakti Yoga’ and was greatly impressed by its environs.

Anasakti Ashram : Refresh the memories of 1929, when Mahatma Gandhi, spent here 14 days while writing his book on 'Anasakti Yoga'. His spinning wheel (Charkha) and other memorabilia are kept here. There is also a study with a small library where one can find books on Gandhian philosophy. The Ashram can accommodate up to 300 people and every evening prayer is conducted in the main hall. One can enjoy mesmerizing sunset and sunrise from the Ashram premises.

Pant Museum : Named after the famous Hindi poet, Sumitra Nandan Pant, who was born in Kausani, the Museum has the articles of his daily use, drafts of his poems, letters, his awards etc. This Museum is at a short distance from the Kausani bus terminal.

Day 06) Ranikhet – Corbett / 96 Km / 03 hrs drive

After breakfast proceed to Jim Corbett national Park.

Jim Corbett is the oldest National Park in India established way back in 1936 to protect the endangered Bengal Tiger. The park is also the most prestigious national park in India. It contains over 488 different species of plants, 110 tree species, 50 species of mammals, 580 species of birds and 25 species of reptiles. Every year more than 70,000 tourists visit this park spread in over 500 sq km. Jim Corbett is known as the father of Project Tiger in India. The park area comprises of hills, marshy depressions, river belts, grasslands, waterfall and a large lake. It's among the few tiger reserves in India that allows overnight stay. At a distance of only 260 kilometers from India's capital New Delhi and close proximity to one of the finest hill stations Nainital, Corbett is a virtual haven for tourists interested in nature and wild life. The trek to Jim Corbett is best enjoyed in winters as the high altitude birds migrate to the lower region and forest is in full bloom. The trek has an altitude variation of 450 meters to 2500 meters and presents a diverse variety to bird and wild life to the enthusiast trekker. Around 650 varieties of birds have been spotted in this region including the migratory variety. The trail takes us along beautiful scenic campsites and old colonial forest bungalows. We start along Kosi river through dense forest rich in wildlife and cross a few streams. The change in vegetation and landscape happens drastically as a trail through thick forests open up to deep gorges and beautiful scenic valleys. The highest altitude point opens up to a commendable view of scenic Himalayas laden with snow. Through our trek we will be constantly rewarded by ever changing bio-diversity and wild life on daily basis. Family and kids can be given pony rides for the entire trek. It's best to say with your guide at all times and follow his instructions to have a safe and fun filled adventurous trip as this area is abundant with Wild Life.

Day 08) Corbett – Haridwar / 130 Km / 05 hrs driver

Drive to Hariwar arrive Hariwar transfer to hotel. At 05.30 Pm go to Ganga Ghat Har - ki - Pauri for the most famous ganga evening Aarti  5:30 P. M., Overnight stay at hotel at Haridwar.

Haridwar is located at the foothills of the lower Himalayan Shivalik Mountains, on the banks of River Ganges (Ganga), & is an important pilgrimage site for the Hindus. Haridwar has very rich ancient religious and cultural heritage. In the ancient scriptures of India, this place is well known by the name of Mayapur. When the Ganges leaves the mountains & enters the plains, Haridwar is the first major town on the plains. Though the Ganges does not lose its rapids completely, nevertheless it becomes very quiet & calm here. Haridwar has earned fame as being the place, which has been blessed by the Trinity of the Lords Shiva, Vishnu & Brahma. It is also one of the major Shaktipeeths. Down the ages, Haridwar has purified the mind, the body & the soul of people not only in spiritual or religious terms but as a major learning centre for arts, science & culture. The Kumbh and the Ardh Kumbh melas also take place here every 12th & 6th year.

Mansa Devi Temple : Mansa Devi temple is located atop the Shivalik Hills. Goddess Mansa Devi, wife of the Nag King Vasuki, is believed to complete the wishes of devotees visiting her temple. To look for the blessings of the Goddess and get their wishes pleased, the devotees tie sacred threads on the sacred tree that stands proud in the temple premises. Once the wishes are fulfilled, the devotees mark value by returning to the tree to untie the threads. A charming view of Haridwar awaits those visiting this temple.

Har Ki Pauri : Har-Ki-Pauri is the sacred Ghat was constructed by King Vikramaditya in memory of his brother Bhartrihari. It is believed that Bhartihari eventually came to Haridwar to meditate by the banks of the holy Ganga. When he died, his brother constructed the Ghat in his name which later came to be known as Har-Ki-Pauri. This sacred bathing ghat is also known as Brahmakund. The reflection of golden hues of floral diyas in the river Ganga is the most enchanting sight in the twilight throughout the Ganga Arti Ceremony. It is the main ghat on the river Ganga, where a holy dip is a must for every devotee.


Day 09) Haridwar – Rishikesh – Haridwar / 25 Km one way

After breakfast Drive to Rishikesh

Rishikesh is one of the most popular pilgrim centers and gateway to the Himalayan Shrines of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. The Yoga Centres of Rishikesh have enhanced the significance of the place. From this point on, the great Ganges leaves behind her mountain home and enters the vast plains of Northern India.

Lakshman Jhula : Big iron suspension bridge on the river Ganges which is 4.5 kms far from Rishikesh. It is believed that Lakshman (Brother of lord Ram) crossed the river here by jute rope. Current bridge is built in 1929 in when the old bridge (1989 built) was damaged in flood. Laskman Jhula is popular in tourist for shopping and other activites such as rafting. Both side of the bridge has so many different shops with interesting things to buy. Lakshman temple and Tera Manzil Temple is also situated here. From the bridge you can have spectacular view of river and the city. Lakshman Jhula is pedestrian bridge but it is also used for bikes. Ram Jhula : Suspension bridge similar to the Lakshman Jhula between Sivananda Ashram and Swarg Ashram is known as Ram Jhula or Sivananda Jhula. Boat is also available here on sharing basis to cross the river. So many shops are available on the both side of bridge for shopping. Sivananda Ashram, Yog Niketan Ashram and Omkarnanda Ashram is located at one end of the brindge and the other end has Swarg Ashram, Gita Bhawan and Parmarth Niketan Ashram. Ram Jhula is pedestrian bridge but it is also used for bikes. Parmarth Niketan : Parmarth Niketan Ashram is located in the Swarg Ashram area. The Ashram has so many rooms for devotees as well as tourist. Ashram has many religious statues inside. Parmarth Niketan is also host for the Internationa Yoga Festival every year. Ashram is popular among the tourist for Yoga. Every day Ganga Aarti ceremony is organized at the Ghat of the Ashram in Evening.(5 PM in winter and 6 PM in Summer. The aarti is widely visited by the tourists.

Bharat Mandir : Bharat Mandir Temple situated at the center in Rishikesh and near the main market. This is one of the oldest temples in Rishikesh. The deity of the temple is Lord Vishnu. Raibhya Rishi made penance here and lord Vishnu appeared in front of the sage to give him blessing. Temple has small musium also. Bharat Mandir Temple is inside the Rishikesh Market area and can be reached easily from Chandrabhaga Bridge

Gita Bhawan : Gita Bhavan (Geeta Bhawan) is Ashram located in Swarg Ashram area. The ashram has large complex with discourse hall and more than 300 rooms which they are offering to tourist at very low cost. There is temple of also inside the ashram. Lessons from Bhagvad Gita is written on the walls of Ashram. Inside the temple you can see life of Lord Krishna in pictures. Cloth store, Book store, Ayurvedic medicine shop and restaurant are part of this.


Day 10) Haridwar – Dehradun – Mussoorie(2005 m) / 81 Km / 02.30 hrs drive

After breakfast checkout from hotel then drive to Mussoorie

Mussoorie, Queen of the Hills, located some 290 km north of New Delhi and 35 Km from Dehradun, is among the most popular hill stations of the country Mussoorie spreads across at a height of 2,005.5 m above sea level. From this vantage point, Mussoorie offers superb scenic view of peaks of the Himalayas in western Garhwal. From West to East, the mighty peaks of Bandar Poonch, Srikantha, the Gangotri group and the Chaukhamba present a mesmerizing panorama. Surrounded by lush wooded expanses and winding lanes, it offers exclusive opportunities for quiet walks. It overlooks the sprawling Doon valley and the city of Dehradun, the gateway to Mussoorie and to entire Garhwal.


Day 11) Mussoorie City Tour

Mall Road : Also famously known as the mall road, it is a total shopper’s delight with everything in the same location. The Mall is like the lifeline of Mussoorie with almost everything located on this very stretch. Be it attractions, hotels, restaurants, shops – The Mall houses them all.

Kempty Falls : The Kempty falls are surrounded by high mountain ranges and are situated at an altitude of approximately 1,364 meters above sea level, thus giving it a wonderful surrounding to just sit and listen to the sound of the water which falls on the rocky bed of the water below among the lush green vicinity.

Camel’s Back Road : The road takes its name from the rock which is shaped like a camel’s hump on its back and stretches around a distance of about 3-4 kilometres from Kulri bazaar to the Library Chowk in Mussoorie. The road is ideal for a walk as one can get amazing views of the valley and the mountains from here. The place is great for the photographers who are looking for great shots to capture of the valley and the mountains that surround Mussoorie.

Gun Hill : The second highest point in Mussoorie, the place’s name is derived from the event of firing cannon from this place to tell what time is it to the people during the British colonization hence giving it the name ‘Gun Hill’. The place lies at an altitude of 2,024 meters above sea level and offers some majestic views of the surroundings.

Christ Church : Christ church was built in 1836 and is considered to be the oldest churches in the Himalayan ranges by the British during the British colonization in India. Possessing Gothic design and architectural styles, the stained glass windows in the Church represent the events in the life of Jesus Christ. Apart from this, the high altar in the Church presents the sufferings of Jesus Christ. The walls and interiors of the church are beautifully decorated to grab attention of visitors.


Day 12) Mussoorie – Delhi/ 35 Km / 01 hour drive +  Flight/ Train to Delhi

After breakfast, and checkout from hotel and drive to Dehradun and board your flight or Train to Delhi.
