Route : Delhi-Mcleodganj–Kareri village-Kareri Lake-Bagga-Rewa village-Galu Temple–Truind-Lahes Cave–Mcleodganj-Delhi
The Kareri and Triund Trek is the easiest Himalayan trek in Dhaludhar region. With breathtaking views of the Kangra valley and the snow covered Dhauladhar ranges, it is also very picturesque. This glacial Kareri lake trek will take you through a journey of the most scenic views. Trek through the lush green forest filled with chir and chilgoza pines as you continue your trek. The flora during the trek changes with gain in height. It starts with forests of pine and broadleaf, and slowly transitions into grasslands, with patches of deodars and pine. You will also come across small waterfalls and a bubbling stream, which follows you along most of the way. The trail leads to Triund which is steep climb but well-compensated by refreshing walks amongst rhododendron and oak trees. There are also various songbirds in the forests along the trail which make it a birdwatcher’s delight.
